Crossbreeding with Holstein

At Globifield we are proud of one of our breeding programs, for a customer who wants to innovate with crossbreeding Holstein with several breeds. The customer, having large existing dairy farms, wanted to try something else. Upon request we created a breeding program. The Holstein open heifers were sourced with our partner VikingLivestock in Denmark, after which the open heifers were moved to our high-quality breeding facility in Latvia. In our breeding facility the open heifers were crossbred with high-quality genetics of the Jersey breed, Montbéliard breed and the Danish Red breed. The animals delivered from this program are considered a trial group to see the impact of crossbreeding in order to create a breed that perfectly fits the purpose of the farmer.
